International Speech Contest Rivonia Toastmasters - 29 March 2007

Our contest produced some excellant speeches and was expertly chaired by Peter Ahmad. We had a large number of contestants for each category and the judges had their hands full selecting the best. For the impromptu speech, each speaker had to speak on the word "congestion" which was quite amusing. Paul McKinley placed second with Patricia Lawson-Smith in first.

Paul McKinley provided our demonstration speech "Driven by fear" which our contestants were hard-pressed to find fault with in the evaluation contest. The evaluation contest ended with Melanie Cavanagh placing first and Jacques De Villiers in second place.

Finally our prepared section was won by Steve Stevenson with Jacques De Villiers coming in second.

All of our contestants, both and 1st and 2nd places will be competing in the next round in the near future. Congratulations to all our winners.
