Some of the messages received from Rivonia Toastmasters' members about the untimely passing of BJ Jonker.

' My first impression of BJ was that he would be a great addition to Toastmasters if he decided to join (thankfully he did!). In the following months, I was always struck by his constant laughter, the fact that he was a prankster of note, knew my name and made an effort to chat although I had not been a regular attendee. He livened up Toastmasters with his wit, charm and on-going naughtiness (a big kid). Such a short time.... but being at his memorial service yesterday was one of the most profound and learning experiences of my life. BJ, you were a success because you touched my life and left an indelible mark - go in peace. Do me a favour please, when you and the BIG GUY are watching us, remind us constantly to laugh more at life and ourselves, to get off the speeding train and to savour the precious moments with loved ones..... Until later, Agueda.'

There are no answers as to why these things happen - seems so very unfair.
